چکیده
Aims: This study was aimed at investigating the protective potential of ethyl acetate fractions Persea americana (PA) seed and Bryophyllum pinnatum (BP) leaf binary combinations against indomethacin-induced gastric ulcers.
Methodology: Fifty (50) male Wistar rats were used in this study; they assigned into 10 groups five animals each respective received a standard rat diet drinking water ad libitum. The group 1 (normal control (NC)), 2 (ulcer (UC)), 3 (Omeprazole, 20mgkg-1 (OMEP)), 4 5 (BP). Groups receiving 6 (PA + BP, 1:1), 7 1:2), 8 1:3), 9 2:1), 3:1) pre-treated with 400 mgKg-1 body weight/day fraction or mixture by intubation for 21 days. On 22nd day after overnight fasting, ulcer induced indomethacin (30mg/kg weight) single dose. Ulcer markers histopathology stomach tissues measured using methods.
Results: present revealed that plants PA seeds BP showed potent tissue effects. Analysis changes indicated significant (P<0.05) reduction index, acid output, mucus content pepsin activity ulcerated pretreated fractions. effect significantly (p<0.05) higher than plant order OMEP > PA+BP (3:1) (2:1) (1:1), (1:2) (1:3) BP. observed ulcero-protective P. B. may be attributed to synergy phytochemicals contained fractions.
Conclusion: These findings suggest combination favorably protect mucosal oxidative damage, reducing activity. exhibited dose-dependent inhibition formation model.

The effect of aqueous and methanolic leaf extracts of Persea americana on plasma glucose, total cholesterol, low-density lipoprotein cholesterol (LDL-CHOL), and high-density lipoprotein cholesterol (HDL-CHOL) in rats was investigated. Albino rats were fed a diet containing 20% groundnut oil, 0.5% cholesterol, and 0.25% cholic acid to induce hypercholesterolemia. They were then treated daily wit...
متن کاملPROTEIN PROFILING OF Bryophyllum Pinnatum (LAM.) KURZ. LEAF
Objective: Bryophyllum pinnatum (Lam.) Kurz. is a medicinal herb commonly used to treat ulcers, cough, diabetes and cancer. In this study, phosphate extraction buffer (pH) was used to extract proteins from the leaves of Bryophyllum pinnatum. Method: On sodium dodecyl sulfate polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis (SDS-PAGE) separation, the results showed that most of the extracted proteins migrated...
متن کاملGastroprotective effect of sodium hydrosulfide against indomethacin-induced gastric ulcer in diabetic rats
Introduction: The incidence rate of gastric erosions and ulcers in diabetic patients are higher due to failure of mucosal antioxidant defense and maintain enough blood flow. The present study evaluated the gastro-protective effect of sodium hydrosulfide (NaHS) against indomethacin-induced gastric lesions in diabetic rats. Methods: In order to test anti-ulcer activity of NaHS against indomet...
